M.V.I.R.D.C. World Trade Center Mumbai (herein after referred as “MVIRDC”) is committed towards safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by the Visitors. MVIRDC manages the personal information in accordance with Information Technology Act, 2000 (“the IT Act”) and other applicable laws. This policy outlines the principles and practices MVIRDC follows in protecting the personal information.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Visitors in India and residing outside. A copy of this policy is provided by MVIRDC to any of the Visitor on request.
This Privacy Policy explains how MVIRDC handles personal information collected online, through our websites and applications (apps) and through offline interactions with the Visitors (collectively, the “MVIRDC Web Portal”).

“Personal information” is information that identifies an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. This includes an individual’s name, home address and phone number, age, sex, marital or family status, an identifying number, financial information, educational history, etc.
From time to time, MVIRDC may use or augment the personal information obtained from other sources, such as public databases, social media platforms and other third parties. MVIRDC may also combine information from a third-party with information already possessed and combine information that has been collected offline with information collected online.

MVIRDC may ask for consent to collect, use, or disclose client personal information, except in specific circumstances where collection, use or disclosure without consent is authorized or required by law. MVIRDC may assume the Visitor’s consent in cases where the Visitor shall volunteer information for an obvious purpose.
MVIRDC may ask for express consent for some purposes and may not be able to provide certain services if the Visitor is unwilling to provide consent to the collection, use or disclosure of certain personal information. Where express consent is needed, MVIRDC will normally ask the Visitor to provide their consent orally (in person, by telephone), or in writing (by signing a consent form).
In cases that do not involve sensitive personal information, MVIRDC may rely on “opt-out” consent. For example, MVIRDC may disclose the Visitor’s contact information to other organizations that MVIRDC believe may be of interest to the Visitor, unless the Visitor request that not to disclose such information.
The Visitor may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of personal information at any time unless the personal information is necessary for MVIRDC to fulfil the legal obligations. MVIRDC shall respect the Visitor’s decision but may not be able to provide with certain products and services if MVIRDC do not have the necessary personal information.
MVIRDC may collect, use, or disclose the Visitor’s personal information without consent only as authorized by law. For example, MVIRDC may not request consent when the collection, use or disclosure is to determine suitability for an honour or award, or in an emergency that threatens life, health, or safety.
MVIRDC may share the Visitor’s personal information within MVIRDC or its Subsidiaries for the defined purpose of obtaining the information.
MVIRDC do not sell the personal information of the Visitor. However, MVIRDC shall share the personal information with vendors, contractors, business, and service partners, or other third parties (collectively, “Service Providers”). Examples of Service Providers include analysis firms, customer service and support providers, email, IT services. Service Providers also include co-promotion partners for products that are jointly developed and/or marketed with other companies.
MVIRDC may also disclose the personal information as required by law to any competent law enforcement body, regulatory or government agency, court or other third party where MVIRDC believe the disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with a regulatory requirement, judicial proceeding, court order, government request or legal process served on MVIRDC, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our customers, the public, MVIRDC or others, and to exercise, establish or defend MVIRDC’s legal rights.
The Visitors may receive notifications and emails from MVIRDC on the contact address/es registered. If the Visitor’s no longer wished to receive such materials from MVIRDC on a going-forward basis, then the Visitor may opt-out of receiving such materials. The Visitor may unsubscribe by following the instructions included in the notification or email. MVIRDC will endeavour to comply with the Visitor’s request as soon as reasonably practicable.
However, even if the Visitor opts out of receiving such communications, MVIRDC shall retain the right to send non-marketing communications (such as security alerts, administrative messages, and information about changes to MVIRDC Privacy Policy or Terms of Use).
The Visitor may have certain rights and choices regarding processing of the personal data. Depending upon the jurisdiction, applicable law shall entitle the Visitor to additional rights, including the right (with certain limitations and exceptions) to:
MVIRDC reserve the right to verify the Visitor’s identity in connection with any requests regarding personal information to help ensure that MVIRDC provide the information maintained to the individuals to whom it pertains and allow only those individuals or their authorized representatives to exercise rights with respect to that information. If the Visitor is an authorized agent making a request on behalf of a Principal Company, then MVIRDC may require a request additional information to verify that the Visitor is authorized to make that request.
MVIRDC reserve the right to deny the Visitor’s request if MVIRDC cannot verify the correct identity. Where MVIRDC shall deny your request in whole or in part, MVIRDC will endeavour to inform the Visitor of the denial and provide an explanation of the actions and the reasons for the denial.
MVIRDC will respond to the Visitor’s request within 45 business working days unless an extension is granted. MVIRDC may charge a reasonable fee to provide information, but not to make a correction.
MVIRDC shall make every reasonable effort to ensure that personal information is accurate and complete. MVIRDC shall rely on individuals to notify if there is a change to their personal information that may affect their relationship with the organization. The Visitor in case of an error in the personal information shall inform MVIRDC about it and MVIRDC shall correct it on request wherever possible. In some cases, MVIRDC may ask for a written request for correction.
MVIRDC protects personal information in a manner appropriate for the sensitivity of the information. MVIRDC makes every reasonable effort to prevent any loss, misuse, disclosure, or modification of personal information, as well as any unauthorized access to personal information.
MVIRDC uses appropriate security measures when destroying personal information, including shredding paper records, and permanently deleting electronic records.
MVIRDC retains personal information only as long as is reasonable to fulfil the purposes for which the information was collected or for legal or business purposes.

In all communications to MVIRDC, please include the email address used for registration and a detailed explanation of the request. MVIRDC will do the best to respond to all reasonable requests in a timely manner.
MVIRDC reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. If MVIRDC changes its privacy practices, a new Privacy Policy will reflect those changes and the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy will be set forth in this paragraph. This Privacy Policy was last updated on 1st July 2022 and is effective as of that date.
